Help raise a 1000’ sq ft 4 level tree house, in the rainforest. Don’t miss this “upper” unity of a lifetime to swing with the best monkeys in the tree house business. This workshop put on by Tree House Workshop based in Seattle, WA, is sure to sell out before the holidays. Includes all lodging, meals, trans, Costa Rica domestic air and several tours. Itinerary includes working with large tropical hardwood beams, post and beam techniques, working from ropes, and erecting 3 floors of our 4 floor tree house. Our Guanacaste Tree is 60-80 years old and is expected to double in size over its 400+ year life span. Nothing has been passed over in the design. We’re hoping for a good 100 years before we have to re – engineer it.
As the designer and proprietor of this project, Michael H. Cranford worked his way through 5 design revisions over the last 6 months and with the help of Mother Nature herself, Michael & his partner Rebecca have begun cutting and milling the naturally felled trees on our 120 acre private rainforest reserve. We will be working with 3 types of tropical hardwoods Guabillo, Pilon and White Cedar. We will also be using Teak and Bamboo from renewable tree farms in the area and old car parts within the design as well. Not a single rainforest tree will be cut down for our tree house nor will our Guanacaste Tree be compromised in any way. No bolts, no screws or harnesses in or around the tree. In fact the tree will only be used as a balancing pendulum up the middle of the tree. Our tree house will become a symbol for living with nature hoping to inspire mankind to protect and nurture our planet and natural resources.
