Trip Advisor Tree House Reviews -
From Scott Satterfield
3/15/2010 -Our Costa Rica Adventure began
from the time we stepped off the 8 seater plane onto the runway in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica. Until the final day of packing up and out of the tree house,I didn't think about the states once! Our lives, our time spent together on The Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, was far too precious to clutter our minds with such things! The tree house rental and car arrangements were made for us by Blondie & Mike (Lapas Nest owners) and before we knew it we were on to the hunt for the perfect tree house in costa rica. Rainforest all around near Corcovado. !Followed the map provided to us by said owners, and were pleasantly surprised to find there were no problems getting there! The house was amazing as the caretaker took us through the garden w/ or luggage to reveal our much anticipated 1st view of this amazing structure! We spent the first night in awe, listening to the rain and the sounds of the jungle,(it may take a night or two before the excitement of the unknown allows you a good nights sleep!)It didn't rain a lot during our stay and that was ok w/us,but if it had, that would have been ok too.I must admit we all expected to see more of the Osa than we did in 9 days. But we found ourselves spending most of our time in the treehouse. Because it is so unique,we simple saw no reason to spend most of our day driving to Corcovado National Park and back to see what was happening in our own backyard. We did spend a good amount of time during the day traveling south past Puerto Jimenez down toward the beaches. I think we made it a little past Sombrero beach in Matapalo, but the road gets pretty tough and slow going after that.It was a convenient stop on the way home everyday to stop in town and p/u supplies,(the essentials like food, ice, and rum). The Lapas Nest tree house was always a pleasure to come home to. The kitchen is fully equipt and we usually cooked breakfast and dinner there. We tried to frequent local tica restaurant when we ate out. There is a wonderful restaurant just north of the treehouse on the main road,(right hand side) simply called "Tilapias".Rosi and Herman - The owners went out back to his fish pond, caught 2 beautiful Tilapia,Showed them to us in a bucket, still flopping around, and in about 20 mins. we were eating some of the best, freshest fish we ever had the pleasure of putting in our mouths!
We feel privileged to have stayed at Lapas Nest Treehouse for 1 week on The Osa Peninsula.
Thanks for taking us back to Disney Treehouse memories
The location of the Costa Rica tree house is also more than we expected. It is not far from Michael and Blondies magnificent Lapas Vacation Home Rental, and only a short stroll to the art retreat (actually a neighbors place that is rented when the group size is large). There is also a small third house that is owned by the caretaker and his Tico family (we loved this delightful young family). We posted our rental review on Costa Rica Tripadvisor. We'll be back next year for my daughters wedding or honeymoon.
There are 4 levels surrounding the tree that form the tree house, the top level bedroom is off limits unless you make previous arrangements with the owners. That didn't really make a difference to us ....we had all the room we needed as a family of 4.It is safe to say that this jungle "paradise" is not for everyone, but if your the adventurous type, and you don't mind a few cool bugs,or sharing your house w/a few tree frogs, then you probably be qualified for our Luxury Tree House Experience. An adventure of a lifetime!
Awesome place for Corporate Retreats, weddings and honeymoons, Osa Peninsula Lapa’s Nest Rental Homes Birding and Great Birdwatching near Corcovado National Park, similiar to when you were a kid at a Disney Adventure with your family, this is the spot if you wanna be a kid all over again. Dont forget to try the Swiss Family Robinson Elevator ! Thanks for the eco treehouse rental adventure vacation in Costa Rica of a lifetime for the kids and I... Thats for sure!

I don't even know where to begin in regards to their Tree house, First, it's a natural engineering marvel and reminds you of something you'd see on The Travel Channel or at Disney in Florida when you are on a Treehouse vacation. I was amazed to learn that there was nothing screwed into the tree to hold the house in place. The tree is completely unharmed and the house is solid as a rock. the house has everything you need, even 2 flushing toilets and a glass bottom shower! Going to bed at night listening to the pleasant sounds of the rainforest is one of the greatest experiences ever. House has at least 4 levels with lots of places to explore. Being high up in the tree with the birds and monkeys is a completely different perspective than being on the ground. One awesome place!

We stayed in Mike & Blondies Costa Rica Tree house for four nights over our Christmas Vacation in Costa Rica. With our 14 & 15 year old boys. Talk about a magical time! This is the experience of a lifetime. We were visited regularly by all sorts of wildlife (monkeys, birds, lizards) and even heard a load roar one morning just a few yards away in the jungle (still a mystery as to what it was!) There are plenty of lodges and hotels that say they have tree houses, but Mike & Blondies is private, secluded, and actually in the jungle in short, the REAL DEAL! This is their home (should be called a treehome, not tree house!), and the love they have for it, and the community and country they have adopted, is present and felt through the lovely artistic touches (both are artists) that are found throughout the house. we felt like the cast-aways at Swiss Family Robinson or alone at Disneys Treehouse Villa Resort. almost Disney like Adventures. make a wish to bring back a truly unique memory, dont miss this opportunity!
